The release of my first LP was an amazing experience! The release was spanned over the course of the entire summer of 2010.

 

The kickoff happened back on June 5 at Used Kids Records in Columbus, OH. We had some seriously bipolar weather, but it was still an incredible time overall…

 

After the kickoff, I hit the road on for the Summer Submerged Tour on June 15. Coupling up with The Historians, I tackled the following cities, venues, and vehicular issues between June 15 & July 9:

… All in all, tour was an amazing time. Just like anything else, the road has its severe upswings and downswings. But that’s exactly why you’ve got to love it so much! If you haven’t yet, check out a solo version of “One Man Syphony,” as performed at The Space in Hamden, CT… You can always check out pictures on my Facebook Page. Soon I’ll be posting more videos and pictures from the tour. I have PLENTY of footage from it all… but few computers that can actually do anything with it. Ohhh technology…

Pelotonia & Counting Crows

  

On August 20, I was given to the opportunity to perform as the opening support for Counting Crows & Augustana, along with Mike Genovese. Feel free to browse pictures from the show on my Facebook Page!

 

Pelotonia was an incredible experience and I was thrilled to be an incredibly impactful organization! Pelotonia raises millions of dollars each on behalf of cancer research by involving riders from all over Ohio to engage in a physically enduring 180 mile biking trip between Columbus, OH & Athens, OH. The August 20 ceremony was the kickoff bash for the event, as music and tons of activities were provided for the riders and their supporters throughout the day.

 

On the afternoon of the ride, Michelle Kazlausky was involved in a tragic accident. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her and her family in the dramatic event that led to her death.

 

 

 

Recent Events & Future Direction

 

I now live in Chicago! Things have really picked up since I’ve been here…

 

I have collaborated with a phenomenal 7-piece ensemble that’s incredibly enthusiastic about our shows in the coming weeks. Our direction has definitely adapted along with the high level of integrity & capability of the artists. We truly can’t wait to hear your thoughts! Be sure to come out in Columbus (10/22) & Chicago (10/26) for the Full Band Debut!

 

 

I have also been actively performing (on drums) with The Future Laureates from Chicago, IL. I had the fortune of playing with them earlier this October at The House of Blues! More pictures are up on the Facebook Page! So be sure to check it out. I will be recording with TFL throughout the winter months and I am looking forward to the process!

Tour Update: Free Shows in New York! Connecticut!

Hey Everyone,

Thanks to everyone who came out to Googie’s last night for the show! We PACKED the house and had an amazing time in Manhattan!!

I have listed details below regarding FREE shows over the next 2 days. The former taking place in Long Island City (Queens), NY and the latter taking place in Long Island, NY.

Tour has been literally wild. We managed to obtain 2 cars that broke down on us within 2 days (my car and a rental). We met people who have immensely changed our lives. We’ve had some tough shows and some of the best shows of my entire life…

With all of this said, I plan on making a Submerged Tour Documentary. This will release later this summer or early this autumn.

Bassel - Submerged

“Submerged”is the title track of the full-length. This track sets the foundation for the album through it’s lyrics. The SUBMERGED concept regards a sense of distress from the overwhelming events of life. This pent up energy is released through a melodic tsunami of acoustic-folk, brass sections, and blues influenced vocals. While tracks such as “Senseless Dreams” & “Mi Dia” replicate this feeling through wide instrumentations, the “Submerged” title track speaks of these moods quite directly.

Next week I will post the FINAL of the 4 previewed songs; “Mi Dia.” This track maintains the widest instrumentation on this whole album, consisting of guitar, drums, bass, trumpet, viola, bells, clapping, vocals, and whole lot of general cahones.
